A Message From Chris…

Hello Friends,

Wow, summer classes will be done this week. As hot & humid as it’s been, summer still flew by. Thank you to all for your perseverance, patience, & dedication through all of it. We tried not to cancel classes, but a few times it was necessary. That’s one of our toughest decisions. We hate to cancel, but we don’t want anyone to get heat stroke – riders, volunteers, or horses. Because the past few summers have been so miserable, the board has decided if we need to cancel more than 2 class days per session because of weather, we will credit the third class missed during the next session. So if we cancel 3 days, riders will get a $15.00 credit toward the next session they ride.

Now some personal updates. You may have noticed that I have missed many classes this year. My husband, Walt, had several strokes in April. He is doing well, but his vision & memory was affected. We have been running to doctors and therapists since April, so we had to be gone a lot. Things are slowing down a little now. Walt is semi-retired now & we are learning new ways to retrain his mind to get back to more normal functioning. Walt can’t drive at this time, so I am on the road a lot more now. We are grateful for all your prayers & help. We have been blessed with manageable life changes, and great friends.

Fall classes start Sept. 6 & run through Oct. 13. Riders – we have a few openings left on Tuesdays at 5:15, Wednesdays at 6:15, and Thursdays at 4:00. A few scholarships are available. Please call ASAP if you are not signed up yet. 715-853-6449 – call or text. If there are still open spots by Sept. 2, we will offer those spots to able-bodied riders who want to learn basic, beginner lessons while riding with our therapeutic riders. Ages 5 to seniors. If you are interested, please call 715-853-6449 to get on a waiting list.

Volunteers – we look forward to your help during fall classes. Please text, call, or email – 715-853-6449 or cmbaldwin@frontiernet.net. Please confirm you will be able to volunteer, even if we talked about it earlier this year. Things change, emergencies pop up, e
